The preliminary task allowed us use of a camera, tripod and editing software in preparation for our thriller opening production. By doing this, we were able to recognise any problems or potential problems that could occur when making our thriller opening. For example, when filming, background noise and people walking through the scene became a recurring disruption for the scene as a result of the location we were in. This allowed us to recognise that the location of our thriller would have to be either private or deserted in order to establish the continuity of the narrative without irrelevant disturbances. Also, the final result of the task is shown to be a very low standard due to the lack of sufficient knowledge or experience. The transitions between each frame is not continuous, as if watching the actor in real life. This is a result of poor positioning of each camera shots and inaccurate editing.
Therefore, the preliminary task acted as an experience to be practised and improved upon in order to improve the quality of our thriller production. The group learnt skills involving camera handling, effect of the tripod, editing skills, importance of location and effective camera angles/shots.
You have provided a good recount of your preliminary tasks, identifying what limitations/disruptions may occur. Make sure you explain how you will overcome these for all things mentioned
